Congratulations to Alexis Cowan from State Fair CC on being named Region 16
Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week (January 9-15)





In two homes games last week, the 5'8" Sophomore PG was the leading scorer for the Lady Roadrunners and was solid
on both ends of the floor in a 78-49 victory vs. Southeastern CC (IA) and a 74-72 loss to Three Rivers College. For the week,
Alexis scored 30 points, going 9-18 from the field (50%), shot 50% on her three point shots (3-6), while netting 9 of 11
(81.2%) from the charity stripe. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in 30 minutes of action per game.
Cowan continues to lead the nation in 3-point accuracy, hitting 56.5% of her attempts from beyond the arc (26-46). This
is the second time Alexis has received Region 16 Player of the Week this season, earning the honors in Week 4 (Nov. 21-27).

2017 Region Championship News

The 2017 Region 16 Division I & II Men's and Women's Basketball Championships
 are moving to Jason Gym on the campus of Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO.
The event will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday; March 2, 3, and 4.
Division II will play semifinals on Thursday and finals on Saturday afternoon.
 Division I will play semifinals on Friday with finals on Saturday evening. Click on the

Lincoln University, the Jefferson City Visitors and Convention Bureau and area Hotels.
